Tips to maintain healthy teeth with siwak

God gives us a healthy blessing is our field to always be grateful, not only grateful but also keep the blessings that Allah gave be a thing we have to do, one of them maintaining healthy teeth. with healthy teeth and strong it will help us in chewing and smoothing food, not only that dental health is also an important thing because once you feel the tooth pain then it feels your days will be very uncomfortable.

One of the Islamic tips that the apostle teaches is to use siwak, then what is siwak? and how to use it?

Siwak (or also called miswak) is a branch of the Aarak or peelu trees, commonly found in the Arabian peninsula. Well how to use it is also almost the same as a toothbrush that is by rubbing the tip of the siwak on our teeth. so good the use of siwak for the dental health of the Prophet Muhammad said:

عن أبي هريرة رضي اللهم عنهم أن رسول الله صلى اللهم عليه وسلم قال لولا أن أشق على أمتي أو على الناس لأمرتهم بالسواك مع كل صلاة

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: "If it is not burdensome to my people or human beings, I would have ordered them to have a toothbrush on every time to pray" (al-Bukhari and Muslim)

The Messenger of Allah also said:

عن حذيفة الله عليه و سلم كان إذا قام من الليل يشوص فاه بالسواك

From Huzaifah said, "If Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) awake at night, he cleans his mouth with a siwak" (Narrated al-Bukhari and Muslim).

The mouth is the cavity of the first food processing, so the remains of food left on the teeth is very easy for bacteria to grow and cause illness, Apostle long before there are scientists who examine the proliferation of germs, he has encouraged his people to regularly clean the teeth with siwak. the virtues of the tooth are so numerous, even modern scientists find that it is better and natural than the existing toothbrushes and toothpaste around the world, one of the studies conducted by Al-Lafi and Ababneh (1995) on siwak wood shows that siwak contains natural minerals that can kill bacteria, remove plaque, prevent cavities and nourish the gums.
Siwak has a useful chemical content, such as:

  • Antibacterial acids, such as astringents, abrasives, and detergents that serve to kill bacteria, prevent infection and stop bleeding in the gums. On siwak use the first time, it may feel spicy and slightly burned, because there is a similar content of mustard in it which is the substance of antibacterial acids.
  • Chemical content, such as Chloride, Pottasium, Sodium Bicarbonate, Fluoride, Silica, Sulfur, Vitamin C, Trimethylamine, Salvadorine, Tannins and some other minerals that work to clean teeth, whiten and nourish teeth and gums. These ingredients are often extracted as ingredients of toothpaste.
  • Natural aroma oil that has a fresh taste and smell, makes the mouth fragrant and eliminates odor.
  • An enzyme that prevents plaque formation that causes gingivitis. Plaque is also a major cause of premature dental dates.
  • Anti decay agent (Anti-decay agent), which decreases the amount of bacteria in the mouth and prevents the process of decay. Besides siwak also stimulate saliva production (saliva) more, where saliva is oral organic that protect and clean mouth.

The following is how the Messenger of Allah has:

  1. Pray before weeding, one of the prayers you can use is:
للهم بيض به أسناني و شد به لثاتي, و ثبت به العربية
  2. Hold the siwak with your right hand.
  3. Siwak starts from the upper middle ranks of teeth, then up the right, then down the right, then down the middle, then upper middle again, then up left, then down left.
  4. The third step is done 3 times round.
  5. Finished bersiwak say hamdalah, "Alhamdulillah".

That is some of the benefits and ways we can do ngiwak, God willing if we run the sunnah Rasul, one of them with bersiwak, then we will get a strong teeth to avoid germs and diseases and of course get ridho Allah because Rasul also recommends using siwak to clean teeth .

Good luck and hopefully useful. Amen :)
